Alba - Pian Trevisan - Penìa - Alba

Medium difficulty route that, starting from Alba di Canazei, reaches the Hotel Villetta Maria, in Pian Trevisan, a classic starting point for excursions to the Fedaia Pass and the Marmolada.

From the centre of Alba, cycle north towards the end of the town. Cross the main road near the Hotel Agomer (Penìa) and take the dirt road that runs alongside the Hotel Villa Rosella. Cross the wooden bridge to reach the opposite bank of the Avisio stream. The route (signpost no. 605) now enters the woods, closely following the watercourse, and alternates short ramps with long flat stretches. Climb the valley until you reach the provincial road of Passo Fedaia near the "Pènt de Giaveisc" bridge. Travel for about 1 km on the roadway until you reach "Pènt da Udaer". Leave the main road and continue right on the easy dirt road that, passing next to a quarry of aggregates, leads to Pian Trevisan (Ciamp Trusan/Trujan), where Villetta Maria stands. The mass and verticality of the looming Gran Vernel are breathtaking and constantly keep the shade. To return, from the hotel, take the main road of the Fedaia Pass and follow it for about fifty meters. At the third bend, take the forest road no. 8 "Agarei" which branches off to the left. The route climbs with a constant gradient for about 1.5 km. At the crossroads, turn left and follow the path downhill, which then becomes Strèda de Treve, towards the villages of Vera and Lorenz. Cross the entire hamlet of Penìa to finally rejoin the main road and return to the starting point.
