Direction to follow

From the car park at the foot of the Valbiolo chairlift you will find the start of the route sign on the right, at the beginning of the asphalt road that goes up towards the ancient Hospice. Follow the signs, which will guide you along a pleasant and not at all challenging circular route, which goes around the Altiporto del Tonale area. The environment is vast, quiet, sunny and will give you fantastic views of the highest peaks in Trentino: Presanella, Cercen and Busazza. The route is particularly pleasant precisely because it is a succession of short ups and downs within everyone's reach, in an environment that alternates vast spaces with passages between larches, mountain pines and fir trees.

Parking

Large car park at the departure of the Valbiolo chairlift.

Safety information

For snow hiking activities follow these guidelines:

  • Inform yourself well about the route and its conditions before leaving. You can do this by contacting the tourist information office closest to you;
  • the day before the excursion consult the weather forecast and the avalanche bulletin;
  • if you plan to reach a mountain hut or refuge, make sure they are open and, if you intend to stop to eat or sleep, call them in advance to book;
  • before leaving, if you don't feel well, postpone going out until you feel better;
  • never leave waste at high altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or mountain huts you visit;
  • If you spot wild animals along the way, we invite you not to approach them, not to shout and to keep your dog on a leash, to prevent him from instinctively chasing them, scaring them.

Equipment

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

Here is a list of items you should have with you when you go snowshoeing:

  • waterproof boots;
  • snowshoes and trekking poles. To rent them, choose the rental closest to you;
