One of a kind, the biotope reserve is a memory of the original natural structure of the entire plain north of Lake Idro, and is a treasure chest of biodiversity, a refuge for many plant and animal species.
A pleasant walk, between bridges, lookout points and a view of the waters of Lake Idro, along a cycle-pedestrian path that allows you to understand the characteristics of this unique reserve. This biotope is the "kingdom" of the Great Crested Grebe, but also of Coots, Royal Hens, Water Rails, Bitterns, Night Herons, Gray Herons, Kingfishers, River Nightingales, Reed Birds and many others. Also noteworthy, in the Idroland area, is the presence of the Hoopoe and a large colony of Swallows. Animals and environments that can be observed thanks to a cycle-pedestrian path that allows you to understand their characteristics and, at the same time, respect their delicate balance.

As you will imagine, the feasibility of itineraries in a mountain environment is closely linked to contingent conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have undergone changes. Before leaving, find out about the status of the route by contacting the manager of the refuges on your route, the mountain guides, the visitor centers of the natural parks and the tourist offices.
Since it is an easy route along the valley floor, we recommend comfortable footwear or, in hot weather, sandals, sunscreen and water.
