During the Great War the route area was the scene of fierce fighting. Many traces of the front line are still visible on the ground, in particular a recently restored trench system. We are in the large pasture and forest area in the northeast of Luserna/Lusérn, the 'homeland' of Cimbrian.

It is a simple path equipped as a 'technical path' with signs that show the basic information for the practice of Nordic Walking. We are in a very beautiful environment, made of pastures, open spaces and wide views. The starting and arrival point is Malga Millegrobbe, once a mountain cottage and now restaurant and mountain resort.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Malga Millegrobbe we leave direction Fort Lusérn (track sign) following the dirt road that gradually leads to the fortress. But we do not reach the fortress directly: about halfway we abandon the dirt road, we definitely turn to the left (track sign) and following the track on the pasture we reach the nearby trenches of Millegrobbe. After visiting the trenches we go beyond, turn left again and we continue on the road to the above Malga Millegrobbe. From here we return back to the starting point.
