Departure from Madonna di Campiglio
One of the most beautiful excursions to do in Madonna di Campiglio, is the one that leads to the Brentei refuge, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites.
Our advice for your excursion.
The excursion is of medium level (in many sites it is also indicated as difficult) and allows you to admire several different environments in a short time. Be prepared to take lots of photos during this excursion! The views you see will be among the most beautiful in the Alps! But let's look at things in order. SUPER BREAKFAST. I start my day from breakfast ofSavoy Palace hotel, a breakfast with a rich buffet where you can really find everything and ideal for getting a load of energy, in typical style Dolomiti Walking Hotel Trentino! In fact, the Savoia Palace hotel is part of a group of 15 hotels in Trentino, all trekking friendly, where the hoteliers accompany their guests to the mountains, thanks to a weekly program full of proposals and activities.
The Savoy Palace it is located in the center of Madonna di Campiglio, a position that allows you to reach the starting points of all excursions (including the ski lifts) in a very short time.
So, to reach the Brentei refuge, I start directly on foot from the hotel, without taking shuttles or the car to reach the Vallesinella car park.
Why? Because in the summer it's a big mess, you have to book the shuttles in advance and then the car park is almost always full.
You choose how to do it. From the center of Campiglio to the Vallesinella car park it is about an hour's walk without any difference in altitude.
VALLESINELLA REFUGE
From the Savoia Palace hotel I reach the Madonna di Campiglio lake and then take via Vallesinella. From here I continue on the asphalt road to the Vallesinella car park. If you don't want to walk on asphalt you can take the path that goes down to the Mezzo waterfalls and then go back up to the Vallesinella refuge at 1511 m.
In total it took me 2h35 from the center of Madonna di Campiglio (you calculate the times I gave you before). Obviously lots of photos, some time for a packed lunch and it's time to return to the valley and say goodbye to this UNESCO heritage site!
