Monzoni (Munciogn in Ladin) is a mountain range in the della group Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites.
Located at the crossroads of the Fassa, San Nicolò and San Pellegrino valleys Punta Valaccia or Valacia it is a classic destination in the area. Its summit allows you to sweep your gaze in the direction of the major mountain groups of the Dolomites and beyond: the Catinaccio, the Sassolungo, the Marmolada (the Queen), the Pale di San Martino to then move on to the Lagorai Group, the Lusia and Cima Mouths. A climb that takes place along the Valle dei Monzoni, initially following the convenient access road to Malga Monzoni and then continuing towards the Vallaccia refuge and the summit. All this, passing through stretches in the woods in the initial part and then finishing along the high altitude meadows between the refuge and the summit on a comfortable and always clearly visible path. Classic itinerary, with a fair length and a difference in altitude, given the length, not exaggerated except for a steep stretch between Malga Monzoni and just below the Vallaccia refuge.
It can be easily reached from Pozza di Fassa and Malga Crocefisso.
For Monzoni group an excellent starting point is the San Pellegrino Pass. The San Nicolò valley has Pozza di Fassa as its main access point.
